How an Upgrade Runs
- Inventory. We catalog your servers, versions, R and Python installations, packages, published content and scheduled jobs.
- Parallel environment. New servers are built on supported operating systems with current Posit releases, beside the environment you run today.
- Workload validation. Applications, reports and pipelines are deployed to the new environment and verified against production output.
- Cutover. Users and traffic move on a scheduled date, with the original environment held as a rollback path until sign-off.
- Managed service. Kimbodo administers the platform from that point forward — monitoring, upgrades, backups and support.

Buyer Questions
Our Posit administrator left and nobody owns the platform. Where do we start?
Start with a platform assessment. We inventory your environment, document versions and dependencies, and return a sequenced upgrade and migration plan with a fixed scope. From there, Kimbodo can execute the project and take over administration under a managed-services retainer.
We want Positron but our R version is too old. Can you fix that?
Yes. Positron requires R 4.2 or newer, and environments stuck on older RStudio Server Pro builds with R 4.0 need a platform upgrade first. We upgrade Workbench, install current R and Python versions side by side with your existing ones, rebuild and validate package libraries, and enable Positron once the environment supports it.
Does the work happen in our cloud accounts or yours?
Yours. Upgrades, migrations and ongoing administration run in your Azure or AWS subscriptions under your security controls. If you prefer fully hosted infrastructure instead, our Data Science Managed Services tiers run Posit on Kimbodo Cloud.
